What information we collect
The only place this website collects information from you is our enquiry form.
When you choose to send an enquiry, you can provide information about:
- the type of work you are considering
- your type of property
- your rough timing
- your rough budget
- your name
- your phone number
- your email address
- the postcode or area where the property is located
- anything else you choose to tell us
You decide what information to provide.
Why we use your information
We use the information you provide to understand your enquiry and contact you about the work you have asked us about.
We may contact you by phone or email to discuss the project.
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing, profiling or analytics.
Our lawful basis for handling an enquiry is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about our services and discussing potential work with them.
We also use limited technical information to protect the enquiry form from bots and abuse.
How your enquiry is handled
When you submit the enquiry form, it is sent through Cloudflare.
Cloudflare Turnstile is used to check that the submission is being made by a person rather than a bot. Turnstile processes technical information such as your IP address as part of this security check.
We also use the visitor's IP address to limit repeated submissions from the same address over a short period. We do not store that IP address ourselves.
Your enquiry is then forwarded to our enquiry system, where we receive and act on it.
Our own program logs only whether technical steps succeeded or failed. These logs do not contain the contents of your enquiry, your contact details or your IP address.
Who we share information with
Your enquiry is processed by the services we use to operate the website and handle enquiries, including Cloudflare.
How long we keep your information
We keep enquiries for as long as they are reasonably needed for our business purposes.
A building project may take months to plan or complete, and a previous customer may contact us later about maintenance, repairs, defects or other work connected with a project.
For this reason, we do not automatically delete an enquiry after a fixed short period.
We review information where appropriate and do not keep personal information when there is no longer a reasonable business or legal reason to retain it.
Cookies and browser storage
Brixwood does not use cookies for advertising, analytics or tracking.
The website does not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, heatmaps, session recording or similar tracking services.
The website stores your light or dark mode preference on your device so that the site can remember how you want it to look when you return.
This preference does not contain personal information. It stays on your device and is not sent to Brixwood.
Cloudflare may use cookies or similar technologies as part of providing its security and network services.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct inaccurate information
- ask us to delete your information in certain circumstances
